Isolation

I have created an instillation in my garden shed which demonstrates the negativity of lock down and isolation through the portrayal of emotions. My artistic inspiration came from the artists Yayoi Kusama and her use of color. I aimed to complete this through using abstract expressionism to portray emotions as well as the central focal point within the instillation, this being the chair. The chair is isolated within the instillation itself, but, it also represents the empty chair which may occur around the dinner table within family’s. As a result of the many deaths of loved ones due to covid throughout the pandemic lockdown period.
